# GwG Art. 29b — Information exchange with MROS
- **Rubric (DE):** Informationsaustausch mit der Meldestelle
- **Rubric (EN):** Information exchange with MROS
- **Status:** In force
## Description
Article 29b lets MROS (the Meldestelle) exchange information with supervisory organisations (AOs) and self-regulatory organisations (SROs). Abs. 1 permits (*kann*) MROS to exchange with AOs and SROs all information necessary for applying the GwG. Abs. 2 restricts MROS from passing on information it received from prosecution authorities to AOs/SROs unless those authorities expressly consent. Abs. 3 applies an equivalent restriction to information from foreign reporting offices: MROS may forward it to AOs/SROs only with that office's express consent, and only for the purposes listed in Art. 29 Abs. 2bis (solely to combat money laundering, its predicate offences, organised crime or terrorism financing).
## Context & interpretation
Inserted with effect from 1 January 2023 as part of the same reform that broadened [[GwG Art. 29 - Information exchange among (domestic) authorities|Art. 29]], Art. 29b opened MROS's information channel to AOs and SROs for the first time, extending domestic cooperation beyond authorities like FINMA. The exchange stays discretionary and layered with consent requirements, reflecting Swiss law's careful treatment of official and professional secrecy even between public and quasi-public bodies.
