# FATF Recommendations
Central entry point for the FATF Recommendations — the *International Standards on Combating Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism & Proliferation* (adopted February 2012, updated June 2026).
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is an inter-governmental body established in 1989. It sets the international standard for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism and proliferation, and assesses countries against it in mutual evaluations. The 40 Recommendations are the standard itself; each is supplemented by an interpretive note (not reproduced in this map).
In this map the Recommendations are the shared spine between the EU and Swiss sides: AMLR articles are keyed to the Recommendation(s) they implement, and Swiss provisions are linked where they meet the same requirement. Each note below gives a short description, the linked AMLR and Swiss provisions, and the text of the Recommendation. Notes are named "FATF R.N"; the FATF itself calls them "Recommendation N".
