One exception is carved out: obliged entities under Article 3, points (3)(n) and (o) - football agents and professional football clubs, for the listed transaction types - to which the Regulation applies only from 10 July 2029. ## Swiss position TJPG Art. 56 subjects the statute to the optional referendum and leaves the commencement date to the Federal Council; the Act's publication notice gives 15 January 2026 as the end of the referendum period. The Federal Council set the TJPG and the parallel GwG revision to enter into force on 1 October 2026 - see [[Effective-dates timeline]]. Neither Swiss instrument creates an obliged-entity category for football agents or clubs; Switzerland reaches sports officials instead through the politically-exposed-person definition, also covered in that note. ## Key divergences Switzerland's beneficial-ownership register and adviser duties take effect roughly nine months before the AMLR applies generally, and the AMLR's football-sector obliged entities apply nearly three years after that Swiss date, a category Swiss law does not use at all - see [[Effective-dates timeline]].
