# AMLR Art. 87 — Review > AMLR Art. 87's first review is due 10 July 2032, and every three years thereafter. See [[Effective-dates timeline]]. - **Part of:** [[AMLR]] - **FATF keying:** _none_ - **Swiss provisions:** _none_ ## What it requires AMLR Art. 87 requires the Commission to review the Regulation's application by 10 July 2032, and every three years thereafter, and to report to the European Parliament and the Council. The first review must assess the national systems for suspicious-activity reporting under Article 69 and the obstacles and opportunities for a single EU-level reporting system, plus the adequacy of the beneficial-ownership transparency framework for mitigating risks tied to legal entities and legal arrangements. ## Swiss position GwG Art. 41a requires the competent federal authorities to involve the relevant trade and professional associations and affected sectors systematically in preparing and conducting FATF country evaluations of Switzerland, including hearing their representatives to an appropriate extent and, where possible, letting them accompany the Swiss delegation at evaluation talks with the FATF review body. It is a participation duty tied to FATF mutual evaluation, not a scheduled review of Swiss AML legislation by the authorities themselves. ## Key divergences AMLR Art. 87 commits the Commission to review specific substantive questions on a fixed calendar and report to the EU legislature; GwG Art. 41a instead obliges Swiss federal authorities to include industry bodies in an external process - FATF's periodic assessment of Switzerland - with no fixed periodicity of its own and no report-back duty to the Swiss parliament. The reviewing body, the subject reviewed and the addressee of the outcome all differ: the AMLR clause reviews the EU regime itself, while the Swiss clause concerns Switzerland's participation in FATF's review of Swiss practice. ## Effective dates AMLR Art. 87's first review is due 10 July 2032, and every three years thereafter.
