## What it requires
AMLR Art. 84(1) requires OLAF to respond in a timely manner to reasoned FIU requests for information needed for the FIU's functions under Chapter III of Directive (EU) 2024/1640. Art. 84(2) lets OLAF postpone or refuse to provide the information where doing so would likely have a negative impact on an ongoing investigation, but requires OLAF to communicate any postponement or refusal, with reasons, to the requesting FIU in a timely manner.
## Swiss position
Switzerland has no counterpart to OLAF and no body under a reciprocal duty to answer MROS requests in this way. MROS's own channels run to different counterparties and in different directions: GwG Art. 30 lets MROS share information with a foreign FIU that meets stated safeguards, and GwG Art. 32 governs its cooperation with foreign criminal-prosecution authorities; neither imposes an obligation on a European Commission body to respond to MROS. No Swiss provision is mapped to this article.
## Key divergences
As with Art. 82, this is a structural non-equivalence: OLAF exists only within the EU institutional framework under Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 883/2013, and Switzerland, outside the EU, has no institution performing that role or bound to answer MROS. The FATF-keying correction to R.2/R.29 applies for the same reason given at Art. 81/83 - OLAF is a Commission body, not a foreign counterpart FIU in the R.40 sense. Art. 84(2)'s postponement/refusal mechanism, tied to protecting an ongoing investigation, has no Swiss-side counterpart recorded here because there is no Swiss obligation for this article to attach a refusal ground to.
## Effective dates
