# AMLR Art. 56 — Notifications
> TJPG Art. 9-12, 51 and 53 have been in force since 1 October 2026. See [[Effective-dates timeline]].
- **Part of:** [[AMLR]]
- **FATF keying:** [[FATF R.24 - Transparency and beneficial ownership of legal persons|FATF R.24]]
- **Swiss provisions:** _none_
## What it requires
By 10 October 2027 each Member State must notify the Commission of the types of legal entities under its national law whose beneficial owners are identified under Art. 51 and Art. 52(4), including categories, characteristics and legal basis, and whether the Art. 63(4) mechanism applies, with a justification. The Commission forwards each notification to the other Member States.
## Swiss position
TJPG Art. 9-12 govern the domestic register mechanism, not a state-to-Commission notification. Art. 9 requires the company to report its beneficial owners' identity (name, date of birth, nationality, municipality and state of residence, nature and extent of control) to the Transparenzregister within one month of commercial-register entry, or of becoming subject to the TJPG for a foreign legal entity, and to flag if it could not identify or verify a beneficial owner satisfactorily. TJPG Art. 10 requires reporting any change within one month of becoming aware. TJPG Art. 11 lets the company instead report to the cantonal commercial-register office when registering another fact, if all beneficial owners are already entered as shareholders or officers. TJPG Art. 12 puts responsibility for these filings on the senior member of the managing body, delegable but not transferable.
## Key divergences
AMLR Art. 56 is a one-off classification exercise between Member States and the Commission, listing the types of legal entity whose beneficial owners are identified under Art. 51 and 52(4) - it is not a beneficial-owner filing. The pinned TJPG provisions instead govern the domestic company-to-register duty: what a company must file, when, and through which channel. TJPG Art. 12 assigns the filing to a named individual, the senior member of the managing body; AMLR Art. 56 designates no individual, since it operates at state level. TJPG Art. 11 offers a filing channel with no counterpart pinned here: reporting via the cantonal commercial-register office instead of directly to the Transparenzregister. The steady-state one-month deadlines in Art. 9 Abs. 4 and Art. 10 are overlaid, for companies existing when the TJPG commences, by transitional deadlines: TJPG Art. 51 (one month after the first post-commencement change to the register entry, capped at two years where all beneficial owners are already entered, or three to six months depending on entity type and audit duty) and Art. 53 (six months for foreign legal entities).
